Terms of Use

Last updated: June 8, 2026

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the Peekd PickEM website (the “Service”), available at https://peekd.gg.

The Service is a free prediction game (“PickEM”) for Counter-Strike e-sport tournaments. Users predict the outcomes of group stages and bracket matches, earn Shards based on how accurate their picks are, and compete on a global leaderboard or in private groups.

Using the Service implies full acceptance of these Terms.

2. Access to the Service

Access to the Service is free of charge. An Internet connection and a valid Steam account are required for most features (making predictions, joining a group, sharing your bracket). Viewing public leaderboards and shared pages does not require an account.

The publisher reserves the right to suspend or discontinue the Service at any time, including for maintenance, without notice or compensation.

3. Account creation

Sign-up is done exclusively through Steam OpenID 2.0. No Peekd password is created or stored. By signing in, you confirm that the Steam account you use belongs to you and you agree that your Steam display name and public avatar will be shown on the Service.

You can change your displayed name from the settings page, provided it is 3 to 16 characters long. You can delete your account and the associated data on request at contact@peekd.gg.

4. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Not use an offensive, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful display name;
  • Not attempt to bypass the Service's technical protections (rate-limiting, authentication, etc.);
  • Not create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or private groups;
  • Not use automated scripts to submit predictions;
  • Not harm other users (harassment, unlawful content via group names, etc.).

Breach of these rules may result in suspension or deletion of your account without notice.

5. User content

You retain ownership of your predictions, your private group names, and any other content you create on the Service. You grant Peekd PickEM a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use this content strictly as needed for the Service to function (displaying it to other users, leaderboards, public shared pages).

Bracket share pages (/pickem/u/<name>) are public and indexable. If you don't want your bracket to be publicly accessible, do not share the link and do not complete your bracket.

6. No real-world prizes

The Service is a free game offered for entertainment. No monetary prize, physical reward, tradable virtual item or cryptocurrency is at stake. Shards and rankings displayed have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for any financial benefit.

The Service therefore does not fall under French gambling regulations (ANJ).

7. Intellectual property

The source code, design, the “Peekd” brand and all distinctive elements of the Service belong to the publisher. The team and tournament marks and logos shown on the Service remain the property of their respective owners and are used for editorial purposes only (see the legal notice).

8. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. The publisher is not liable for:

  • Temporary or permanent unavailability of the Service;
  • Loss of predictions or scores due to bugs, migrations or infrastructure incidents;
  • Any use you or third parties make of public share links;
  • Any indirect damage arising from use of the Service.

9. Personal data

Processing of personal data is described in the legal notice, “Personal data” section.

10. Changes to the Terms

The publisher may amend these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance will, failing amicable resolution, fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts.

This document is a template. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before publishing. In particular, check that the “No real-world prizes” clause matches your situation — introducing any monetary reward or tradable virtual items later would radically change the legal framework (gambling / lottery regulations).
